Year 3 Boys Head to Old Trafford

Year 2 and 3 boys have had their first taste of representing the school in sports events by playing football in the “Road to Old Trafford” tournament.

The Year 2 team managed to win 1 and draw 2 of their 5 games. They represented the school brilliantly, were superbly behaved and wore beaming smiles all day.

The Year 3 team recovered from losing their first game to Greenside by winning their remaining 5 group matches. It all came down to the final where we found ourselves 2-1 down with 70 seconds remaining. After bundling one in from a corner to make it 2-2, Rhys Barnes curled an exquisite shot into the top corner with less than 10 seconds remaining. All of the year 3 boys will now play the Manchester finals at Old Trafford in late-May.
