Year 3 homework and reading quizzes

Hello Year 3. Just to clarify about homework, it is set weekly, on a Friday. It is due in, by 8.50am, the following Thursday.

The homework set:

1) Reading book
2) 15 minutes on Emile (spelling)
3) 15 sessions on TTRS
4) Assignment on Freckle (maths)

Freckle class codes are:

3FL – vzucu4

3FO – fotheu

Please remember that once you have finished your reading book, you must complete a quiz on accelerated reader. This needs to be completed before you can change your book. This can be completed by following the link HERE. (For more help on completing the quizzes, see below.) Reading diaries and books can be brought in whenever a child finishes their reading book and has completed a quiz on accelerated reader but the reading diaries must be brought in every Thursday for the teaching staff to check on your reading progress.

Those children who have completed their Emile, TTRS, and Freckle will receive Class Chart points, which helps towards earning your Golden Time and also termly treats for the top points scorers. Children will also receive points for completing a quiz on their reading book. Completing all of your homework will earn you some WOW points.

Accelerated Reader quizzes

When children finish reading a book at home, they should complete a quiz on Accelerated Reader. Please click HERE to access the website. (This link is school-specific, so you won’t be able to access it through a Google search.)

1. Click ‘I’m a student’.
2. Login with your details. These should include a username and password that have been sent home.
3. Click on ‘Accelerated Reader’.
4. Enter the title of the book that has been read. You can also search using the quiz number, published on a sticker on the inside page.
5. When you have found the correct book, press ‘Take Quiz’.
6. There may be more than one quiz for the book. Prioritise the ‘Reading practice’ quiz. If you want to do any additional quizzes (e.g. vocabulary) you can complete these too.
7. Complete the quiz!
